I'm Rick Clemens, and I paint watercolors from a small crossroads in the Missouri Ozarks, and most of what I paint is right outside my door — back roads, old barns, creek crossings, faces with stories, and the plants and grasses that most people walk past without looking twice.I came to watercolor after a lifetime of doing other things, and I'm still learning what the medium can do. What keeps me coming back is its honesty. You can't completely control water and pigment on paper, and at some point you stop fighting that and start working with it. That's when the good paintings happen.I look for subjects with interesting light and shadow, but they also have to make me feel something. A weathered face, a dried plant against a winter sky, a barn that's been standing longer than anyone remembers — these things matter to me, and I try to paint them in a way that makes them matter to whoever is looking. My philosophy is simple: if I'm not finding joy in the process, what's the point?

About the Artwork
Q: Are the prints signed or numbered?
A: All prints are reproductions of my original work and are open edition (not numbered). They include my printed initials in the corner, but they are not hand-signed.
Q: What is a Giclée print?
A: Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a high-quality printing process using archival pigment inks on fine art paper. This method provides superior color accuracy and longevity, ensuring your print will last for decades without noticeable fading.
Q: What is the difference between an Original and a Print?
A: An Original is the single, unique piece of watercolor art painted by Rick Clemens. A Print is a high-quality, archival reproduction of the original artwork.Products and Pricing
Q: Do the prints come matted and framed?
A: Prints are sold unmatted and unframed, allowing you to select the perfect mat and frame for your space.
Q: How do I know which size to choose?
A: Each piece is offered in two print sizes selected to best preserve the original's proportions. The dimensions listed (such as 11×14 or 16×20) represent the actual print size. We recommend measuring your available wall space to determine which size works best for your room.Ordering and Fulfillment
Q: How do you handle production and shipping?
A: All prints are made-to-order by our professional partner, The Stackhouse Printery. They print and ship the item directly to you in secure packaging. This is why production takes 3–5 business days before the order ships.
Q: Can I combine multiple prints into one shipment?
A: Yes, if you purchase multiple prints in a single transaction, they will be combined into one order for printing and shipping by The Stackhouse.
Q: Why do I need to checkout one item at a time?
A: Because our checkout is simplified using individual "Buy Now" buttons, you must complete the purchase process for each item separately. We apologize for this minor inconvenience! We will be implementing a multi-item shopping cart in the future.
